![]() Current Exhibitions: **The Affordable Art Fair Spring Collection 2010: Joanne is showing at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea Park, London with Cohesion Glassmakers Network 11th-14th March 2010 http://www.affordableartfair.com/ * Black and Gold @ the Platform Gallery Joanne is currently taking part in this exhibition of all things black or gold at the Platform Gallery, Clitheroe. The exhibition is showing the work of 20 selected makers who have emerged over the last decade. http://www.ruthincraftcentre.org.uk/ News: * 10°N/10°S Design Exchange Joanne is taking part in '10°N/10°S', a year long collaborative exhibition project between 4 diverse designers based in St Etienne, France, and 4 from the North East of England. The design exchange exhibition was recently shown at the Cite du Design, St. Etienne, as part of the Design Biennale 2010, France. Joanne's exchange partner is designer Sandra Villet, with whom she is producing several new collaborative works. Watch this space for more info on this exciting project! http://designexchange.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/presentation-du-projet/ *NewcastleGateshead Art Fair: Joanne and Jessamy had a successful show at the North East's contemporary art fair at the Sage, Gateshead where they exhibited with the Cohesion Glassmakers Network, 1-4th October 09. www.ngartfair.com *British Glass in Washington DC: Joanne travelled to Washington DC in May to take part in the 10th anniversary of the renowned U.S. art exhibition 'Artomatic', with a selection of creatives from the North East of England, showing her own work and Juo's wall pieces. The trip, sponsored by Sunderland City Council as part of their friendship agreement with the US capital city was a great success, with many pieces bought by American art collectors. http://www.artomatic.org/ *Modern and Contemporary Glass Auction at Bonhams: In June one of Joanne's pieces was selected for the prestigious glass auction at Bonhams of New Bond Steet, London, and was sold to a private collector. *Juo are Prize Winners!: Joanne and Jessamy are delighted to have been awarded 'Best use of Glass in Retail and Interior' at the Pearsons Prize awards 2008. They won the award for the Juo sculptural wall piece 'Coastal Glacial' (right), a one'off piece produced for Newcastle Building Society's new site at the Cobalt Business Park. www.pearsonsprize.com *Juo Artwork Commissioned for Harbin Museum, China: Juo have been commissioned by Sunderland City Council to produce a unique glass artwork for Harbin Museum in China. The wall piece, entitled 'Wearside Migration' (right) was inspired by the sunset and sunrise over the silhouetted bridges of Sunderland. The hand-painted migrating birds represent the journey east to China. Recent Publications: Joanne's work has recently been featured in some new publications including the Cohesion Directory and ‘North East Glass’, written by Peter Davies, leader of the Glass and Ceramics Department at the University of Sunderland.
